_________________________________________________ Contract News City of Carnation - A one-year contract was ratified by the Public Works and Office-Technical Bargaining Unit. We appreciate Kelly Hankinson in representing the members. City of Clyde Hill - The Law Enforcement Officers Bargaining Unit ratified a three year agreement. We would like to than Officer Nathan Cobrea for his hard work during these difficult negotiations. Snohomish County Corrections Support - The membership approved a one-year extension of their Labor Agreement . Special thanks to Rank and File Committee members, Harold Yannacci, Jeff Langsam, Will Pollock, Jodi Martin, Rebecca Koontz, and Mark Noftsger. Snohomish County Law Enforcement Support Services - The membership approved a one-year extension of their current Labor Agreement. Special thanks to Rank and File Committee members Jill Iverson, Pauline Sanders, Valerie Rusch, Tina Murphy, Sandra Collins, and Chris Leyda. Kent School District - A new three-year agreement was ratified by the membership with thanks to Committee members Chris Anderson, Kelly Bissell and Kim Baird. We are in negotiations or at the beginning of negotiations with Granite Falls Police and Public Works, Snoqualmie, Bellevue, Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, Brier and trying to restart OHFL. Special Thanks to all of the above-named individuals who worked hard and provided resources, experience and knowledge representing their Bargaining Units with integrity and professionalism. Other News Snohomish County Corrections - On Tuesday March 16, 2010, Harry Parker was promoted to the rank of Captain. Congratulations! Captain Harry Parker. City of Newcastle - PERC has approved the newly organized Bargaining Unit of Public Works and Parks employees so work on a first Collective Bargaining Agreement will move forward. We are hopeful that the process will proceed smoothly. ABF Freight - ABF has contacted the IBT to discuss possible concessions during these tough economic times. Meetings have been scheduled with the membership across the country for their feedback. This feedback will be forwarded to the IBT Freight Division for further discussions with the company. This type of request is similar to relief given to YRC and Peninsula Truck Line. _________________________________________________ General Membership Meeting
