Highline School District
Held two bargaining sessions via Zoom on August 5th and 6th to bargain over the effects of Covid-19 on how the schools will be operating this year. We will be voting by mail sometime the week of August 17th. We had a full committee present and felt we made some good movement during negotiations.
City of Tukwila
We will be negotiating over the installation of new scanners and a new process for tracking temperature for City employees and eventually the Public when the City buildings reopen due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently only the Courts and the Golf Course are open to the public.
We are also beginning the Salary Survey for our Teamster members in the Admin/Tech contract. We have scheduled multiple meetings to work on this survey and there will be more to come.
The City recently wrapped up a interview process with our members in the Public Works Shops, seeking employee input from them on how the department works for them. Do they feel like they have a chance for advancement? Are there Racial tensions you experience? And many other questions, designed to make improvements in the shops and also to provide some input on the future of the shops and who the next director might be.
Kenworth
Sending opening letter this month for upcoming negotiations. The contract expires in November. This will be a multi union coalition negotiation.
SPEEA
We worked out a process within the confines of the contract to help them avoid layoffs by limiting pay for overtime and instead the members will use their contractual choice to receive comp-time in lieu of pay
Falck
We are currently holding grievance timelines on the issue of the Critical Care Transport bonus. There is some confusion regarding the CCT bonus as it applies to ALS transports in Pierce County.
Thank you,
